Coming This Weekend

Posted by Todd Cullen on 10/10/14 @ 9:47 AM

As we head into the weekend there are a few things coming up at HHICC that I’d like you to know about…

  • This Sunday at 9:30 or 11:00 I will be giving Part 2 of a message called Think Global as we continue in our series focused on global missions. Make plans to attend one of our two morning services this coming Sunday!
  • Our Think Global Partners Spotlights have been fantastic this month and I want to encourage you to go listen to the last few weeks online if you missed it. BTW…You can always use hiltonheadislandcc.org/messages to get to that page as well.
  • Tomorrow night (Saturday, October 11) from 7p-9p our Middle School Students (6th - 8th grade) are having Hang Out Night. The middle school boys will meet in Backstage on the HHICC campus and the middle school girls will meet at Todd and Sami Cooper’s house.
  • For more information about Hang Out Night visit the student page of our website or contact “Coop” (Todd Cooper), our Student Pastor. You can always use hiltonheadislandcc.org/students to get to the page as well.

Many of you have responded generously to my appeal in regard to our financial need over the past two weeks. In fact, this was the first time that we have meet our weekly budget need for two weeks in a row since before July.

Some of you took up the 90-Day Tithe Challenges last week. I’m praying that you experience the goodness and provision of God in your financial life in remarkable ways in this last quarter of 2014. If you are not currently tithing and haven’t taken that 90-Day Tithe Challenge let me encourage you to do that. The challenge is this: For the next 90-Days give God 10% of your income and trust Him to meet your needs. This challenges comes from Malachi 3:10. Generous giving tests our faith, but it is THE one area where the Bible says that we can test God. We test Him by trusting Him. I’m reminded of what Paul writes in his letter to the church in Philippi:

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:19 (ESV)

I’ll see you on Sunday!

Something Different

Posted by Todd Cullen on 10/06/14 @ 10:13 AM

As sit on my porch this morning I'm reminded of how much I love cool and crisp Fall weather. This is my favorite time of year. I love the Fall. I love it because of lower humidity, the clearer air, the cooler temperatures and the change of the leaves. OK, we get the change of leave much later here on Hilton Head Island, but you get my point. Yes, I love the Fall for all of those reason. But I also love the Fall because of what it represents…something different! Yesterday I sensed in both worship services something very different at HHICC!

Our worship yesterday was amazing. Yes, it's always amazing because we have a fantastic team who work hard week in and week out creating an environment where we can worship God with passionate hearts! But yesterday I sensed something different. Our worship was uncommon! It went beyond just a few people in the room participating. The room was full in both services and I sensed that there were more and more people being "All In" in their worship our Jesus! Something WAS different!

In part 3 of our series Think Global our “Think Global” Spotlight was on our partner John Eve, the founder of ROW Kids. John and his wife Sue have a fantastic ministry to in Central America, the Caribbean and the American southwest and you can find out more information by visiting www.rowkids.org. We also had several members of our summer missions trip to Belize sharing what they learned from their experience this summer. It was a very energetic day. But I sensed something different. I sensed that God was at work in the lives of many Christ-followers in the room. I was right because there were dozens of you who signed up to find out more information about our Belize 2015 trip back to San Marcos! Dozens! Something WAS different!

There was also something else going on yesterday at HHICC because even though yesterday was a day to challenge the Christ-follower to help advance the gospel message, God was moving in the hearts and lives of some in the room who have never responded to the good news message of Jesus. But for 5 people, yesterday WAS different. They said “Yes!” to Jesus! Something WAS different!

And I'm reminded this morning that this is why we do what we do! Our mission, purpose and goal isn’t just a once a week “service”. Our mission, purpose and goal is to engage with those who are unchurched and passionately share the message of hope with them. Yesterday that happened and 5 responded! Yesterday, there was a spirit of something different. Not just because of the weather, or the change of season, but I sensed that God began a new work in and through HHICC and I can’t wait to see what He has for us next!

Are you All IN?

Posted by Cynthia Cullen on 09/03/14 @ 10:00 AM

The past two weeks, we have been sharing about what it means to be ALL IN at HHICC. We've talked about being ALL IN  when it comes to worship, that is...We hold nothing back in our WORSHIP of God, Our Creator, His Son Jesus, our Savior, and the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, as we meet together corporately and live our lives individually for Him.

Last week, Pastor Todd unpacked what it means to be ALL IN when it comes to SERVING, that is...We create margin in our daily lives so that we can SERVE our family, friends, church, neighbors, and complete strangers in whatever way that help is needed.

Don't miss this Sunday, Sept 7 as we unpack what it means to be ALL IN when it comes to GROWING in our walk with God. You will have the opportunity to sign up for a Life Group, Bible Study, or Mentoring relationship THIS WEEK.  See you there! 9:30a and 11:00a.
