As sit on my porch this morning I'm reminded of how much I love cool and crisp Fall weather. This is my favorite time of year. I love the Fall. I love it because of lower humidity, the clearer air, the cooler temperatures and the change of the leaves. OK, we get the change of leave much later here on Hilton Head Island, but you get my point. Yes, I love the Fall for all of those reason. But I also love the Fall because of what it represents…something different! Yesterday I sensed in both worship services something very different at HHICC!
Our worship yesterday was amazing. Yes, it's always amazing because we have a fantastic team who work hard week in and week out creating an environment where we can worship God with passionate hearts! But yesterday I sensed something different. Our worship was uncommon! It went beyond just a few people in the room participating. The room was full in both services and I sensed that there were more and more people being "All In" in their worship our Jesus! Something WAS different!
In part 3 of our series Think Global our “Think Global” Spotlight was on our partner John Eve, the founder of ROW Kids. John and his wife Sue have a fantastic ministry to in Central America, the Caribbean and the American southwest and you can find out more information by visiting www.rowkids.org. We also had several members of our summer missions trip to Belize sharing what they learned from their experience this summer. It was a very energetic day. But I sensed something different. I sensed that God was at work in the lives of many Christ-followers in the room. I was right because there were dozens of you who signed up to find out more information about our Belize 2015 trip back to San Marcos! Dozens! Something WAS different!
There was also something else going on yesterday at HHICC because even though yesterday was a day to challenge the Christ-follower to help advance the gospel message, God was moving in the hearts and lives of some in the room who have never responded to the good news message of Jesus. But for 5 people, yesterday WAS different. They said “Yes!” to Jesus! Something WAS different!
And I'm reminded this morning that this is why we do what we do! Our mission, purpose and goal isn’t just a once a week “service”. Our mission, purpose and goal is to engage with those who are unchurched and passionately share the message of hope with them. Yesterday that happened and 5 responded! Yesterday, there was a spirit of something different. Not just because of the weather, or the change of season, but I sensed that God began a new work in and through HHICC and I can’t wait to see what He has for us next!
