The Next Generation

It is has been so much fun for me to be a part of our Kids Ministry Team the past couple of months on Sunday mornings. It's the first time in my ministry life that I have been able to be a part of the Sunday experience with my own kids. I can't tell you how much I have learned from this curriculum with our 1st-3rd and with our preteens. If you are a parent of a child 5th grade are under, you need to join our team. It is the most rewarding experiencing & I can't express how much it has added to the spiritual conversations in our house just because I am with my kids once a month on Sundays. Yes, shameless plug! Click here to sign up with Summer.

This also begins a new season of ministry for me. I have been a worship leader on Sundays every week for 20+ years. The time has come for me to be a part of that team and no longer "the one" leading every week. I have invested in our team for the last 8 years as a church and God continues to bring new leaders into our ministry. I will continue to be the Programming Director and Musical Director of our Ministry, but now, all our Worship Leaders will be contributing in every way including choosing worship sets, leading rehearsals, and investing in our team. I'm excited that this season has come for me to be mentoring and developing our team while still being an active part as "one of the worship leaders" at HHICC.

Todd and I are so honored to be serving alongside our HHICC family as we together reach our Island with the Message of Jesus Christ. We are also ready for this next season as our kids and students both have amazing environments to engage with God each week and with each other. They are the next generation. They are the NOW generation. Great days are ahead!

My Favorite Service

Posted by Cynthia Cullen on 12/23/14 @ 3:37 PM

Creating worship experience every six days at HHICC is such a privilege. But designing the Christmas Eve services is my favorite worship experience every year.

Please join us Wednesday, December 24 at 3:00p, 4:30p, & 6:00p. It's an hour experience that even my 7 year old will enjoy! (childcare is provided for ages 0-5)

Let's celebrate together with song, candles, and in community together...see you there.

Joy in Stress...can it be?

Posted by Todd Cullen on 11/21/14 @ 11:24 AM

Have you ever had anyone tell you that their life is stress free?

Did you believe them? What in the world did they do to avoid stress? Do they even have a life?

If we are really honest we must admit that if we have breath to live, at some level we have stress. But some people handle stress really well. I’ve often wondered why some people handle stress well and other explode! I’m sure that there are many reasons but I believe that a major factor in handling stress well, at least for the Christ-follower, is spiritual in nature.

This Sunday, as we close our current series, It’s All Good, we’ll consider what we can do to experience joy even when we are stressed. Yes, I just suggested that joy and stress CAN co-exist. I believe Paul suggests the same thing in his letter called Philippians.

Please don’t miss this last installment of It’s All Good on Sunday at 9:30 or 11:00. Read Philippians 4 before you come. Get introspective and consider how you handle stress in your own life. Let me and the other readers of this blog know how you respond to stress, some of your coping mechanisms and an example of a time you responded well to a stressful situation.

I’ll see you on Sunday!

Pastor Todd
